5 festive things to do in Nine Elms this Christmas
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and it’s especially wonderful in London. From carols to cooking to culture, here are five festive activities near Nine Elms, Battersea and Wandsworth worth checking out this Christmas.
Christmas carol concert
On Monday 5 December join the cats and dogs (and a few humans…) at St Luke’s Church for a special Christmas carol concert. Enjoy an evening of carols, mince pies and mulled wine whilst supporting Battersea Dogs’ and Cats’ Home.

Art and opera
Hear the English National Opera Chorus perform three 20 minute performance in Tate Britain at the start of December. No booking required and entrance is free.

Christmas cooking class
The Avenue cookery school in Wandsworth are running a hands-on Easy Christmas Class to help you cook delicious food on Christmas Day. Over five hours you’ll learn how to make roast turkey, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, celeriac mash, bread sauce, sprouts with bacon and chestnuts, Christmas pudding, mince pies, brandy butter and brandy creme anglais.
The class is fun and relaxed; it’s a lovely atmosphere to learn how to cook, especially around Christmas. It costs £98 and includes supper and bottomless booze.

Josie Long Hosts Christmas This Year
Battersea Arts Centre have a few Christmas themed events running this year, but it’s this festive stand-up show about hosting your own Christmas that’s caught our eye. Ideal for Josie Long fans and newbies alike.

Christmas lights in Battersea Square
A mystery celebrity guest will be turning on the Christmas tree lights in Battersea Square this winter. Get there early and join the community carol singing in the square while you wait for the lights to be turned on.
