A look back on our first year in Brentford

A lot has changed since we first opened our doors back in April 2021. Despite opening when the world was still in chaos with a global pandemic, we packed as much in as we could, and a year later, we couldn’t be more proud of what we have achieved.

Our office launch event was a huge success and a fantastic opportunity to meet the local residents of Brentford. Taking place on Saturday 4th September 2021, we descended onto Market Square for a day of fun, food and games. Verdict were on hand to supply us with delicious sandwiches, delectable cakes and copious amounts of fresh Pastel De Natas. Local microbrewery, Weird Beard offered up their tasty beers and guests raised a glass whilst relaxing on the plush JOHNS&CO velvet sofas. Residents had the opportunity to chat to our Sales and Lettings Managers and ask any property related questions.

2021 also saw Brentford FC promoted to the Premier League (a huge celebration for local residents) and our partnership with delicious local café Verdict. We also provided them with seasonal coffee cups (we love seeing these on social media so tag us when you get your next drink!)

Heading into the festive period, we supplied the Brentford Lock West Christmas Event with a scrumptious Fortnum & Mason hamper for their raffle, we ended up raising over £300 which was donated to the local food bank trust to help families in need over the festivities.

Fast forward to this year and we are so excited to be sponsoring the Our Lady of St Johns Roman Catholic Primary School Summer Fair on July 2nd to help fundraise for their new playground!

Brentford lock

London and the UK is now looking as close to pre-pandemic than ever seen in these past two years. Not only are people now going on holiday again, meeting up with friends and family, enjoying life and of course buying and renting property again! We have seen an unprecedented level of interest from people looking to rent in and around the area. A large proportion of this interest has come from people returning back to London after extended periods in the countryside away from the office.

This has spiked demand and created a property deficit across sales and lettings, meaning increased rental growth and sales prices, especially noticeable in Greater London pockets such as Brentford.

The next 12 months will also see the first phase of Ballymore’s high street regeneration come to fruition. The Brentford Project brings an extremely promising positive impact to the local area, as well as the property market in Brentford. The development will offer an exciting lifestyle for residents, with riverside views and walks, exceptional facilities and an opportunity to be part of the fabric of Brentford. Those investing in The Brentford Project will benefit hugely from healthy yields and longer tenancy lengths.

At JOHNS&CO we have seen this success in many Ballymore schemes such as Embassy Gardens and London City Island, and we expect The Brentford Project to have a similar impact. Despite being a large-scale project, there will be a focus on boutique style retail and outfits rather than larger high street chains, resonating with the lucrative local markets of Chiswick, Richmond, Kew and Twickenham. This will create a draw to Brentford like never seen before.

This is already being seen in the individuals buying units in the development off-plan, with many coming from Putney, Fulham and Chelsea. No other development in the area will serve the demographic (20-39 year olds) as well as The Brentford Project in terms of lifestyle, amenities and community.

So if you have been thinking about making Brentford your new home or latest investment, now couldn’t be a better time to get involved and secure a slice of this South West community. Contact us today!
