Possible extension of DLR

At a Transport Select Committee meeting last week, a Transport for London spokesperson stated that the organisation is considering the idea of extending the Docklands Light Railway over the proposed Gallions Reach Bridge. This bridge – which has been under consideration for many years – is proposed to replace the Woolwich ferry and will run between Thamesmead and Beckton, linking Greenwich and Newham.

East London has been neglected in terms of infrastructure and transport for some time and if this DLR extension materialises, it will mean far easier access for those based East – such as those at developments including Royal Wharf, which is due to begin completion next year.
